Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has expressed support for opposition-led protests against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning that isolated demonstrations may not yield meaningful results.
Reacting to ongoing political tensions, Adeyanju said while he personally would not join protests alongside politicians, he stands in solidarity with citizens and groups demanding accountability from Independent National Electoral Commission and the federal government.
He stressed that for protests to be effective, they must be continuous, coordinated, and sustained across the country over an extended period.
According to him, “If the protests are not sustained for weeks all over Nigeria, it’s a waste of time,” underscoring the need for persistence in civic action.
