Multi-award winning music producer and musician, Don Jazzy, has shared his thoughts on the economic advisory council appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The 35-year-old gave his thoughts in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“The Appointees in the new Economic Advisory Council are some of the brightest minds we have in the country and their appointments are well-deserved. Hopefully, the government’s reposed trust in their expertise would have positive effects on the economy. However, I would advise the govt. to prioritize the development of our HDI in this term. Substantial funds should be earmarked in our fiscal budgets to improve our Education and Health sectors in compliance with WHO and UNESCO,” he wrote in parts.
The president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, announced the council in a statement on Monday.
Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, was appointed into the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
Chairman of the council is Prof. Doyin Salami while Dr Mohammed Sagagi will serve as vice-chairman
Other members of the council are Prof Ode Ojowu, Dr Shehu Yahaya, Dr Iyabo Masha, Mr Bismark Rewane and Dr Mohammed Adaya Salisu, who will serve as secretary.
The advisory council will replace the current Economic Management Team (EMT) chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and will report directly to the president.
