In a show of political maturity and party loyalty, Dr. Barr. Obinna Uzoh has congratulated Chief Sir Azuka Okwuosa on his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Anambra South.
Chief Okwuosa emerged the party’s flag bearer in the recently concluded primary election held in Nnewi, securing a majority of the delegate votes to clinch the ticket for the upcoming senatorial bye-election.
Despite raising concerns about the conduct of the primaries, which led to his withdrawal from the race, Dr. Uzoh has demonstrated a commitment to the unity and progress of the party. In a statement issued on Saturday, he extended his congratulations to Okwuosa, describing the moment as one that calls for bridge-building and solidarity among party faithful.
“Though the primary process was marred which led to my withdrawal from the flawed process, our unity as progressives must remain paramount,” Dr. Uzoh stated.
He further expressed readiness to support the party’s chosen candidate and urged all his supporters to remain peaceful and loyal to the ideals of the APC.
“I extend my hand of support in the spirit of sportsmanship and party loyalty, and I urge all our supporters to remain peaceful and committed to the ideals of the APC. This is a time to build bridges, not burn them,” he added.
Looking ahead to the bye-election, Dr. Uzoh reaffirmed his dedication to the overall success of the APC, emphasizing the importance of delivering good governance to the people of Anambra South.
“Together, we shall work to ensure that our party emerges victorious and that good governance is delivered to the people of Anambra.”
