DSS Rescues Kidnapped Police Officer in Kwara State After Three Months in Captivity

The Department of State Services (DSS) has successfully rescued a police officer, Ibrahim Muhammad, who was held captive for three months after being kidnapped by armed men in Patigi, Kwara State.

Muhammad, attached to the Patigi Division, was abducted on August 10, 2025. The state police command confirmed receiving notification of his rescue from the DSS at around 5:00 p.m. on November 9.

Sources reported that the officer was found abandoned in a forest by his captors. He has been handed over to the police and is currently in stable condition. “He is being debriefed as part of further investigation,” the sources added.

The police have not disclosed whether a ransom was paid or if any arrests have been made in connection with the abduction. However, they assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.

The rescue has brought relief to both the police command and Muhammad’s family, who had endured more than 90 days of uncertainty since his disappearance.
