As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, Evangelist Mgbechi Emmanuel Igwebuike has shared a heartfelt message emphasizing the profound meaning of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection.
In his Easter reflection, Igwebuike highlights how Jesus paid the ultimate price for humanity’s sins, being crucified, buried, and rising again on the third day. He described the Crucifixion as a supreme act of love, saying, “Like a rose, He was trampled on the ground. Jesus took the fall and thought of you above all.”
The evangelist broke down eight key biblical terms for believers to reflect on during the season: Repentance, Forgiveness, Sacrifice, Salvation, Cross, Grave, Resurrection, and Jesus. Each word, he noted, encapsulates a core truth of the Easter story:
Repentance: Turning away from sin and embracing God’s forgiveness.
Forgiveness: A gift made possible by Jesus’ sacrifice, wiping away sins.
Sacrifice: The ultimate act of love, as Christ gave up heaven and life for humanity.
Salvation: Humanity’s rescue from the consequences of sin through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Cross: A symbol of God’s redemption plan and Christ’s call for believers to follow Him.
Grave: Jesus’ empty tomb represents victory over death and hope for eternal life.
Resurrection: Evidence of God’s approval of Christ’s sacrifice, promising eternal life for believers.
Jesus: The Son of God, whose life, death, and resurrection fulfill the prophecies of the Messiah and restore humanity’s relationship with God.
Igwebuike encouraged Christians to reflect on these truths and to express gratitude and worship this Easter. He also urged believers to apply these lessons in their daily lives, asking: “How will you respond to Jesus’ life and love?”
Concluding his message, Igwebuike led a prayer of thanks for Christ’s sacrifice, emphasizing the hope and peace the resurrection brings. He reminded followers of Revelation 1:17-18, where Jesus declares, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
He closed by inviting Christians to share their reflections with others and to embrace the spirit of Easter with gratitude and worship.
