EFCC Declares Elie Bitar Wanted Over Alleged Crypto Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Elie Bitar wanted in connection with an alleged fraud perpetrated on an online trading platform known as Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).

In an official public notice released by the Commission, Bitar is accused of orchestrating fraudulent activities through CBEX, an online trading platform that has come under investigation following multiple complaints.

The EFCC has urged members of the public with any information regarding Bitar’s whereabouts to come forward. Reports can be made at any of the Commission’s offices located in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.

The Commission also provided a dedicated phone line — 08093322644 — and an official email address, [email protected], for tips and information. Citizens are encouraged to also report to the nearest police station or any other security agency.

Bitar’s image has been circulated in public advisories, and the EFCC continues its nationwide effort to bring him into custody.

Anyone with useful information is strongly urged to come forward.
