Elohor Needs Justice, Not Lies — Actress Hilda Dokubo Tells Soludo

Hilda Dokubo and Soludo

Veteran Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo, has strongly criticized Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, and the state’s so-called “morality police” over the alleged assault of a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Elohor, in the state.

In a statement on Friday, Dokubo condemned what she described as “fabrications of tales” by the authorities in response to the incident, which involved the stripping and humiliation of the corps member.

“Soludo, surely you know lies are the wrong response for a wounded girl, pained parents and disappointed citizens. Elohor, the corper girl, needs healing and justice, not lies! You can’t allow this injustice,” Dokubo declared.

She faulted the conflicting narratives given by officials, ranging from claims that culprits had been arrested, to reports that the victim’s parents refused to press charges, and later that those involved were dismissed.

“Why the many tales? Why? Clearly no one can use lies to protect criminals,” she said, stressing that the ordeal has left Elohor as “one more abused young person.”

Dokubo further condemned the intimidation and harassment of women, urging the state government to ensure justice is served.

“Elohor was in Anambra for youth service to add value to both society and herself, not to be stripped naked and lied against by a failed group of those who should have protected her,” she said.

The actress added that the continuous harassment, threats, and violation of women in the society must stop.
