Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has publicly called out controversial aphrodisiac seller and self-styled therapist Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, over what he described as the misuse of his name and image in explicit social media content involving his son, Michael.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, the actor expressed shock and anger after discovering videos allegedly linking his son to Jaruma’s brand. Ike dissociated himself completely from the content, describing it as indecent and damaging to his hard-earned reputation.
“What has my name and picture got to do with these disgusting videos?” Ike questioned, demanding the immediate removal of his name and image from all related posts. He stressed that he has no affiliation with Jaruma or her products and warned that his legal team is already reviewing the matter.
The actor also used the opportunity to criticize his ex-wife, accusing her of pulling their son out of university just before his second year and discouraging him from completing his education. According to Ike, he had insisted that Michael finish school—just as he did—before pursuing a career in entertainment.
“I sent you to the university, and your mother pulled you out, saying school is a scam and encouraging you to become an influencer, singer, and actor,” Ike lamented. “Is this what it has led to?”
Emeka Ike revealed that he had made arrangements for his son to live, study, and work abroad, with plans to help him build an independent and successful future. He said it was painful to see those plans abandoned, describing his son as “lost” and “mentally numbed” by external influences.
The actor further stated that Jaruma had no moral standing to “train” his son, questioning her brand and influence. He maintained that he is a decent man who has worked hard to build his name and would not allow it to be dragged into controversy.
“This was not the same brand of Michael that was taken from my custody,” Ike said, adding that he believes divine judgment will prevail. He concluded by saying he is praying for his son to regain clarity and direction.
