Nigerian rapper Erigga has sparked conversation online after sharing his views on relationships and the growing difficulty of finding genuine partners.
According to the artist, society often downplays the significance of a successful marriage, despite the increasing challenge of finding emotionally healthy and responsible individuals. “We need to stop acting like getting into a happy marriage isn’t an achievement,” he noted, emphasizing how rare it has become to meet “a normal behaving human being.”
Erigga added that in relationships, conflicts often run deeper than the mistakes that spark them. He argued that apologies sometimes fall short because “the real issue isn’t the mistake, it’s the part of your character that allowed you to do it in the first place and you can’t apologize for character.”
He also advised people to pay closer attention to the figures their partners admire or seek approval from, saying such insights “explain a lot” about a person’s values and behavior.
