Ex-Minister, Kabiru Turaki Accused of Jailing Baby Mama After DNA Confirms Paternity

Kabiru Turaki and Hadiza Musa Baffa

Nigeria’s political landscape has been rocked by a disturbing case involving former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and his estranged partner, Hadiza Musa Baffa.

Hadiza, who publicly accused Turaki of years of abuse, manipulation, and alleged exploitation, claims she was subjected to eight pregnancies—reportedly “harvested” for ritual purposes—during their relationship. She says the former minister was entrusted by her late mother, who was his lover, to support her education but instead turned her into what she describes as his “plaything.”

The scandal took a decisive turn when a DNA test confirmed Turaki’s paternity of her child with a 99.99995% probability, contradicting his previous public denials of knowing her. Following the revelation, Hadiza alleges that Turaki used his influence to deploy officers of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) to arrest and intimidate her.

According to Hadiza, she was ambushed on December 11, 2024, while at home with her child. She claims officers broke into her residence without a public warrant, detained her alongside her daughter, and subjected them to degrading treatment.

She also alleges that Turaki ignored police invitations, evaded arrest, and staged a fake trip to the United States before orchestrating her detention. Hadiza has since raised the alarm over threats to her life, insisting that if anything happens to her or her child, Nigerians should hold the former minister responsible.
