The recent explosion in Uluyagbo community of Bliss Estate, Akure, caused by Dortmund and Company’s quarry activities, has resulted in significant destruction of properties and left many families homeless. The incident occurred despite previous agreements to halt activities pending the resolution of disputes.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday the 19th day of June 2025 at noon when the company was preparing to carry out rock blasting within the residential community, causing significant emotional trauma.
The incident follows a history of sudden evasion of properties leading to confrontations between the landlords of the community and Dortmund and Company Limited in his attempt to establish a quarry site, resulting in outcries as residents conclude that their lives and properties are unsafe.
To forestall the break down of law and order, it was gathered that the Uluyagbo family under the leadership of Chief Adelakun, being keen at protecting his ancestral name, intervened to resolve the dispute amicably.
