Family Rejects $26M Offer to Convert Legacy Farmland Into Data Center

A family in Kentucky has turned down a $26 million offer to convert part of their farmland into a data center, despite the amount being nearly ten times the area’s typical land value.

Speaking on the decision, a member of the family said, “My family and great grandfather have all lived here for years and even paid taxes and fed the nation from here.”

Reaffirming their stance, she added, “If it’s my way, I’ll stay and hold and feed a nation. 26 million doesn’t mean anything.”

She further emphasized her deep connection to the land, saying, “As long as I’m on this land, as long as it’s feeding me, as long as it’s taking care of me, there’s nothing that can d£stroy me if I’ve got this land.”

Her mother also addressed criticism from outsiders, stating, “They called us old st¥pid farmers, but we are not. We are attached to this land. I want to d+e here too.
