The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has been battling with secessionist groups including the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra led by detained Nnamdi Kanu, as well as the Yoruba Nation secessionist group championed by Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, says the country will overcome all its challenges including secessionist agitations, and remain united as a prosperous, indivisible nation.
Fayemi made this statement in Ado Ekiti on Friday at a dinner organized in honor of members of the Alumni Association of the 3rd Regular Course of the Nigeria Defence Academy led by former Senate President David Mark. Founder of Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti, Afe Babalola, was also present at the event.
Nevertheless, Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho should know that their plans to divide Nigeria will not work. Because Nigeria is a country that believes in Unity, Peace, and Progress, and it is boldly written in their coat of arms so nothing will ever break the unity amongst Nigerians.
