FCTA Trains 557 Staff In Three Years

                            

A total of 557 staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have been trained from 2016 to 2019. This is according to Lazarus Gaza, Director, FCT Human Resources Development.

He added that about 237 staff are in various study programmes in different higher institutions across the nation.

He made this disclosure at the 5th FCT Minister’s Press Corps Retreat held in in Enugu, saying FCT has made considerable progress in manpower develop and that the result is showing in the input of staff so far.

Gaza, who was represented at the occasion by Nnamani Albert, Principal Admin Officer in the Department, explained that 382 officers were granted study leave with pay, while 175 staff were granted study leave without pay. He said so far, only 200 staff are pending awaiting and training.

He, however, commended some international funders that have assisted in facilitating the trainings like Japan International Cooperation Agency (JAICA), Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), as well as Chinese Government that has been involved in facilitating trainings in Water Board, AEPB, Education and FCT hospitals which have already migrated to electronic medical records.

According to him, the Chinese Government has been involved in capacity building towards the complete takeover of Abuja Light Rail by FCT staff.

He, however, decried the recurrent decimal of poor funding, late release of funds and late passage of FCT Budgets. He also decried the non-release of funds for training.
