The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has restated the federal government’s dedication to transparency and public engagement during a Ministerial press briefing in Abuja.

The ongoing ministerial series, he said, allows Nigerians direct access to government updates and will continue through Democracy Day and beyond.

He announced a drop in headline inflation to 23.71% in April 2025, down from 24.23% in March, with food inflation also easing to 21.26%.

These improvements he said were attributed to government interventions in agriculture, transportation, and services.

While acknowledging that more work remains, the Minister said current indicators show that reforms are beginning to yield results, with expectations of improved living conditions for citizens.

He also praised the media for its role in informing the public and urged continued responsible reporting.

Highlighting infrastructure efforts, the Minister noted major investments in roads, water, agriculture, and the creative economy as part of the government’s development agenda.

Also while briefing on his achievement and challenges, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Utsev outlined several ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at improving water management across the country.

He detailed major developments in the water sector, including the construction of dams and expansion of hydroelectric power projects.

Utsev also emphasized the government’s focus on irrigation systems, noting that these efforts are closely tied to educational and location-specific projects designed to boost agricultural productivity and sustainability.
