A literary and publishing firm, Noisy Streetss, has commenced the training of university students across Nigeria in writing, storytelling, podcasting, media, and cultural expression.

The initiative is aimed at empowering young African storytellers across tertiary institutions.

In a statement on Monday, Noisy Streetss said the tour kicked off at Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, offering an immersive experience designed to connect with students passionate about creative expression.

The ongoing tour has stopped at several institutions including Bowen University, Obafemi Awolowo University, Redeemer’s University, and Landmark University.

Founder and Project Lead of the tour, Modupe Daramola, explained that the initiative responded to the growing need to amplify young African voices.

She said, “At Noisy Streetss, we believe that everyone has a story, and those stories deserve to be told boldly, authentically, and beautifully.

“This university tour is our way of meeting young storytellers where they are and helping them realise the power of their voice and the need to tell their stories authentically.”

Daramola noted that the tour featured hands-on workshops on writing, publishing, podcasting, and audio storytelling.

“The event also includes mentorship and career conversations with authors, editors, podcasters, and media professionals.

“There was talent discovery opportunities for budding writers, illustrators, designers, and audio creatives, as well as networking sessions with the Noisy Streetss team,” she added.

She emphasised that beyond campus engagement, the tour aimed to leave a lasting impact on Africa’s literary and creative sectors.

“The Noisy Streetss University Tour is more than a brand activation. It is a movement aimed at shaping the future of the African literary and creative industries,” Daramola said.

The firm called on students, faculty members, student associations, and literary enthusiasts to be part of the initiative and join a growing community that celebrates African creativity in all its forms.

It added, “Noisy Streetss is a youth-focused publisher dedicated to telling the African story authentically. Through its diverse range of products and initiatives, the firm seeks to redefine what it means to be young, African, and expressive.”
