The House of Representatives Committee on Infectious Diseases has directed the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, to submit detailed documents on the disbursement of international grants used to strengthen Nigeria’s public health system.
Chairman of the Committee, Amobi Ogah, gave the directive during the agency’s 2026 budget defence session at the National Assembly.
Director-General of NACA, Dr. Temitope Ilori, appeared before the panel to present the agency’s 2026 budget proposal and provide an overview of its programmes supported by donor funding, highlighting ongoing interventions targeted at disease control and health system strengthening.
Ogah assured that the National Assembly would ensure full implementation of the 2026 budget, stressing that shortcomings observed in the execution of the 2025 budget would not be allowed to recur.
