The Federal Road Safety Corps, Akwa Ibom Sector Command, said it has commenced a regular Special Patrol Operation across the state to arrest and prosecute road traffic offenders in the state.
The sector commander, Francis Ajatta, disclosed this in a statement issued by the command’s Public Enlightenment Officer, Paul James, in Uyo on Monday.
He said the exercise is aimed at ensuring the safety of road users and to further discourage intending offenders against any such act of recklessness behind the wheel.
Ajatta said, “The command has embarked on regular Special Patrol Operations with the sole aim of arresting and prosecuting such offenders in the court of law.
The special operation is a measure to ensure the safety of road users and to further deter intending offenders against any such act of recklessness behind the wheel.”
