Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has forwarded a list of commissioner nominees to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The nominees are said to have no strong political affiliation or visible ties to either the governor or his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. Most of them are professionals drawn from academic and legal backgrounds.
Observers say the move signals a shift toward technocratic and neutral governance as the state continues post-crisis reconciliation efforts. The House is expected to begin screening the nominees soon.
The nominees — Prof. Datonye Alasia, Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mrs. Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, Esq., Mr. Lekue Kenneth, Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq., and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart
