Governor Uzodimma Meets With The Leadership Of The Christian Faith In Imo State

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma met Archbishops, Bishops, General Overseers, and leaders of the Christian Faith in Imo State at the Imo State Government New EXCO Chambers, Owerri.

Concerned about the present security situation in Imo state, Christian leaders in the state have sued for peace calling on all aggrieved persons to sheath their swords and ensure that lasting peace is restored in the state.

Addressing newsmen after a closed door session with the Imo state Governor Hope Uzodimma at the government house in Owerri the Imo state capital which lasted for over one hour, the Prelate Methodist Church of Nigeria His Eminence Samuel Uche Said as an apolitical group their role is to ensure that all aggrieved persons are reconciled in order to return peace to Imo state. He Added that the need to put an end to the security breaches in the state is paramount.

He urges youths in the state against being hired to cause mayhem and disrupt peace in Imo state.

Earlier in the meeting, Governor Hope Uzodimma stated that the meeting is part of the strategic engagement as a result of heightened insecurity in the state.

Especially in the face of false information as regards the issues.

The Governor disclosed that the events of last three months has shown that there is a deliberate design to make Imo state ungovernable.

He added “We are not averse to a stakeholders meeting but we are taking it sector by sector”.

He further reassured the Christian Leaders and Ndi Imo in general “I will never compromise on ensuring the security of our state”.
