A viral exchange on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked fresh controversy after Grok, the platform’s AI chatbot, responded to questions about the history of an account ID allegedly connected to the current INEC chairman.
The discussion began when former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, asked for transparency regarding the original name and identity behind the X account with ID 1567086242164101120, which was created in September 2022 and later associated with the username “joashamupitan” in November 2025.
In its response, Grok stated that the account was created on September 6, 2022, under the username joashamupitan, adding that there was no record showing the name change occurred in November 2025 as suggested in the query.
According to Grok, available records and account tracking data indicate that the handle retained the same username from its creation until April 10, 2026, when it was reportedly changed to “Sundayvibe00” and subsequently locked or made private amid controversy surrounding posts linked to the 2023 political period.

The AI chatbot’s response has since triggered widespread debate online, with users questioning the implications of the account history and the accuracy of digital identity records on social media platforms.
