
The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed that two people were killed during an armed robbery attack along Gadar Bala, Doma-Yelwa road on Wednesday night.
Akelicious gathered from sources that, a 911 truck carrying goods and passengers from Rukubi town was attacked by unknown hoodlums at about 11:30 p.m.
Sources said that the assailants opened fire on the truck, fatally injuring the driver, Yusuf Dogara, male, of Madawaki Ward, Doma, and a passenger, Nano Gideon, female, of Akaba Agyaragu town, Obi Local Government Area.
The sources added that Patrol teams, supported by vigilante groups and local hunters, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The injured were evacuated to General Hospital Doma, but both victims were pronounced dead on arrival.
Their bodies were deposited at the hospital mortuary, while other injured passengers received treatment and are responding to care.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators, and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in the area.
