It is our well considered opinion that in 2022, Ndi Anambra will support the government of Prof. Cee Cee Soludo with their time, talents and resources. Nothing less is expected for The People’s Choice.
In 2021, Ndi Anambra taught Nigerians the art and science of conducting a peaceful, free and fair election that meets international standards and made Ndigbo proud. This feat runs against the predictions of naysayers who saw mayhem, bloodletting and electoral malpractices. However, Ndi Anambra pulled through these challenges and more.
They were steadfast. More than two years to the November 6 2021 polls, majority of Ndi Anambra resolutely said they wanted Cee Cee Soludo as their next Governor after Governor Willie Obiano. They sought him out. He accepted to the run. Before and after the primaries of his party, he undertook a contestation of ideas and values yet to be seen in our clime. He connected with the grassroots and his reputation soared, something akin to a hurricane. It was clear he was headed for victory.
Scared stiff to their bone marrows, his opponents responded with thuggery, character assassination and mudslinging. Anambra’s landscape became a theatre of war instead of a field of electioneering contests. Many stakeholders scampered for safety. To the dismay of those who thought they had the machinations to conquer Anambra, the State had a beautiful election that expectedly produced Cee Cee Soludo as Governor-Elect.
2022 will mark the beginning of transforming Anambra into a one state Megacity that is liveable. This is the vision of Soludo for a state with the most resourceful and enterprising people. He feels emboldened the people will support this worthy vision with their time, talents and treasures.
Meanwhile Soludo thanks Ndi Anambra for the confidence reposed in him. He says the celebration is over. He now burrows himself in his studies working out the finer details on how he will together with the people, pull the chestnut out of the fire.
Obviously, we are in for gritty and fascinating times notwithstanding the oversized expectations as some may say.
Happy New Year.
Be of good cheer!!
