Heavy fighting has erupted in Ɗan Sadau community in Zamfara State after a large group of suspected terrorists riding about 50 motorcycles launched an attack on the area, sparking a fierce confrontation with local vigilantes.
According to residents, the clash has lasted several days, with communities remaining on high alert as the attackers attempt to penetrate the town. Locals said the vigilantes have been actively defending their homes despite having no formal security support.
Sources in the community revealed that residents have gone over four days without proper sleep as they continue to keep watch and respond to movements by the armed group. Determined to protect their families and property, the vigilantes reportedly denied the attackers any opportunity to rest by maintaining constant resistance.
Despite relying mainly on locally made firearms and basic weapons, the vigilante group is said to have held its ground and successfully pushed back several attempts by the terrorists to overrun the community.
Residents have called on security agencies and the government to urgently deploy reinforcements to the area, warning that the situation remains tense and could escalate if support does not arrive quickly.
