Lagos- Pan Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere on Sunday said Yoruba people are taking note of the silence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and will pay him back at the appropriate time.
The Afenifere faction led by the late Senator Ayo Fasanmi which the Tinubu faction belonged to has not issued a statement since last week when the confrontation between Yoruba and Fulani herdsmen began over the quit notice issued by a freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Sunday Igboho to Fulanis to vacate Yorubaland.
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary said any leader who cannot speak out for Yoruba people in the period of crisis is an impostor and a betrayer.
He said “To start with, we don’t know any faction of Afenifere and we don’t want to dignify anybody to that level.
“Anybody that calls itself Afenifere that cannot speak for our people in the midst of this siege is a complete betrayal and impostor”.
“For those who have maintained sinful silence at a moment of deep crisis for Yoruba people, Yoruba people are not fools. They are taking notes and they will pay them back at the appropriate time”.
