Tragedy struck in Owhelogbo community, Isoko North LGA of Delta State, as Iboirode, manager of Century Home Hotel, confessed to the gruesome murder of 22-year-old POS operator, Onoriode Bethel. The young lady was declared missing on December 13, 2024, and her decomposed body has now been recovered from the hotel premises.

According to police reports, Iboirode lured Bethel—his friend—into a room within the hotel under the pretense of a meeting. The suspect’s wife revealed that her husband killed Bethel in retaliation after she accused him of using a fake bank alert to withdraw N10,000 from her account. Although she recovered her money, he allegedly vowed to kill her for “tarnishing his image.”

Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that after murdering Bethel, the hotel manager buried her on the premises. Shockingly, he used her phone and POS machine to contact her father and collect ransom money. The police have since arrested him along with other staff members in connection to both Bethel’s case and a previous hotel guest murder.

The horrifying incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice for the slain young woman
