I am a hidden but not an upcoming coach

Current Coach of Berekum Chelsea, Mr. Asare Bediako says his name may not be a household name in coaching in the country but he has been in the system for quite a long time.

Coach Asare Bediako revealed that he is a former footballer having played for Prestea Mine Stars and Tano Boafoakwa locally as well as playing for a club in Benin when Abedi Pele and Papa Arkoh were also playing in a rival club. He revealed in a one – on – one interview with Opoku Afriyie Richmond (Fantastic PKAY) on the Rush Hour Sports on Ghana- Kumasi Base Radio Station Fox FM.

Coach Asare Bediako stated that “I am a hidden but not an upcoming coach” He further explained that he began his coaching course in the year 2000 at Kumasi. He set up his own club and was into football administration. He later quit being a football administrator and entered into coaching.

According to him, he has been at the helm of some clubs as a coach including Great Ashanti’s, Tano Boafoakwa, West Ham and Unity FC in Divisions One and Two. “The Anas Number 12 Expose was the cause of not being able to qualify Unity FC to Premier Division”. He explained that he received his License A Coaching Badge in 2016 and won his first Premier League game against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Asare Bediako praised his current players at Berekum Chelsea especially his central defensive partner (Zakaria Fuseini & Ahmed Adams) as well as the experienced players at the club in the people of Jordan Opoku, Obed Owusu and Richard Kissi Boateng.
