Media personality Rufai Oseni has fired back at suggestions that he peddled fake news in his coverage of the Very Dark Man (VDM) case, asserting that his reporting was based on verified information from multiple credible sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Responding to insinuations that he misled the public, Rufai stated: “I personally verified the story on VDM from EFCC sources and they confirmed it to me before I relayed what BBC reported. I verified from multiple sources in the EFCC.”
He strongly refuted claims of misinformation, adding: “So writing fake news on my story is falsehood and they know this. I have facts to back up my claims. If I don’t have facts I will not speak. I stand by my story.”
