I Was Never Dead, Nigerian Returnee Demands Justice as ₦100M Savings Disappear From His UBA Bank Account

Nigerian foreign returnee

A Nigerian foreign returnee has been left devastated after discovering that over ₦100 million in his UBA (United Bank for Africa) savings account had vanished—allegedly after someone falsely claimed he was dead and accessed the funds.

According to the victim, who recently returned to the country after years of working abroad, UBA officials shockingly informed him that the funds had already been claimed by another party, based on the assertion that he was deceased and buried.

A bank-issued account statement reviewed by the man reveals a series of suspicious withdrawals that cleared out the entire savings he had built up through years of labor overseas. Despite repeated efforts to get clarity, UBA has failed to provide any information about the recipient account or the person who made the death claim.

In a disturbing turn of events, the bank reportedly attempted to involve the police to arrest him when he insisted on answers. However, officers declined to detain him after reviewing the documents and recognizing the legitimacy of his complaint.

To date, no clear explanation has been offered by the bank, and the victim continues to seek justice.

“I am alive, I was never sick, never declared dead, and nobody had my permission to touch my money,” the man stated in frustration. “UBA must return every kobo.”
