Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, member of the House of Representatives representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, has sparked fresh political speculation after dropping a cryptic statement that suggests he may be on his way out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a symbolic remark, Ugochinyere shared a dream where he saw “a big elephant coming into town,” describing it as “the only political party that will save all of us from what is going to happen.”
“The way the umbrella is today is very frightening,” the lawmaker said, in an apparent reference to the PDP’s symbol — the umbrella.
His statement, which has gone viral across social media platforms, is being interpreted by political observers as a subtle hint toward a possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose symbol is the elephant.
Ugochinyere, known for his bold political views and fiery commentaries, has been a prominent voice within the PDP caucus in the House. However, recent developments within the party and rising internal rifts may have fueled his discontent.
