Iran Agrees to Two Week Conditional Ceasefire with United States

Iran

Iran has agreed to a conditional two week ceasefire with the United States, signaling a major de escalation in rising Middle East tensions.

In a statement issued in Tehran, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran would halt its “defensive operations” if attacks against it stop.

Iran also pledged to allow safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks, coordinating movements with its armed forces.

The move aligns with U.S. President Donald Trump, who earlier announced a two week pause on strikes, calling it a “double sided CEASEFIRE” and stating the U.S. has “already met and exceeded all Military objectives.”

The breakthrough follows mediation efforts by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir.

The ceasefire remains temporary and conditional, with both sides expected to use the window to advance negotiations.
