Israeli Airstrike Hits Journalists’ Residence in Central Gaza, Two Killed

Israeli Airstrike

Tragedy struck the media community in Gaza on Sunday, October 19, after an Israeli airstrike reportedly targeted a residential building used by journalists in Al-Zawayda city, near Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

According to local reports, at least two people, including a journalist, were killed in the strike. Several others were injured, while rescue teams and fellow journalists rushed to the scene to search for survivors under the rubble.

Witnesses described the attack as devastating, saying the house had served as a safe space for members of the press covering the ongoing conflict.

The strike came just hours after Israel resumed air operations in the Gaza Strip, accusing Hamas of violating a ceasefire agreement brokered the previous week.
