It will be difficult for APC to Zone Presidency to South East – Sarkin Adar

A member of the House of Presentative representing Gada/Goronyo Federal Constituency, Sokoto State, Honorable Musa Sarkin Adar, addressed the issue of whether the ruling APC will zone the presidency to the South East, among other things.

Honorable Musa who featured as a guest on Arise TV, also discussed the rumour making the rounds that exPresident Goodluck Jonathan is set to join the ruling APC.

According to him, there is nothing wrong with the move by his party in trying to woo the former president. He said that, “this is a democracy and Goodluck Jonathan is free to decide, if he wants to join the party or not.”

However, the APC stalwart also pointed out that the former president is free to contest for the office of the president. But, given that politics is a game of numbers, should the position be zoned to the south, the southeast would find it difficult to clinch the party’s ticket.

According to him, “the southwest have the highest population of governors from the region, in the APC. No matter the level of agitations. Besides, agitations are allowed in a democracy.”

He submitted that, given the population stakeholders in the APC from the southeast, the region will struggle to win the presidential ticket of the party.
