Former Governor of Abia State and current Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed concern over the state of politics in Nigeria, highlighting how the political landscape has changed over the years.
Speaking in a recent interview, Kalu recalled his tenure as governor from 1999 to 2007, noting that politics at the time was “good” and characterized by humility among politicians.
He contrasted that era with the current political climate, claiming that the entry of people involved in drug trafficking and 419 fraud has negatively impacted governance and political conduct.
“It’s wrong to misuse Nigeria’s money, and Nigerians should hold their leaders accountable,” the senator said, emphasizing the need for transparency and responsible leadership.
