The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 UTME resit, conducted for candidates affected by technical glitches at some CBT centres.
Out of 336,845 candidates, 21,082 were absent.
In a statement, JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, revealed that the exercise exposed widespread malpractice involving candidates, CBT centres, and tutorial operators. Consequently, some results were withheld, implicated centres blacklisted, and complicit individuals flagged for prosecution.
The Board noted a rise in digital fraud, including AI-enabled impersonation, remote access to exam servers, and coordinated cheating involving undergraduates as mercenaries.
Over 3,000 candidates have been implicated.
JAMB warned against false result claims after exposing a social media forgery by a student who doctored his UTME score. It added that only affected results of candidates with infractions and those slated for a mop-up exam remain withheld. The Board commended security agencies, WAEC, ABU Zaria, and others for their support in ensuring a fair process, reaffirming that despite challenges, its central server remains secure. Candidates can check their results via SMS short code 55019/66019, with withdrawals communicated directly
