With the recent orchestrated conspiracy by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board(JAMB) against Igbo students with a deliberate glitches excuses that made a total of 379,997 candidates across the 157 centres mainly in Lagos and the South-east to fail the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and subsequent rescheduling and rewriting of the said Exam to the affected students within 72hrs announced by JAMB Registrar Is-haq Oloyede after his apology and admittedly error from Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB)

Subsequently, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) under the leadership of Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka contested the Joint Admission Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) scheduled re-sitting of the exam, following their 72-hour notice, due to the insufficient time allocated and the additional costs parents would incur in preparing their children for the exam, given the prevailing economic difficulties in Nigeria.

As the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) proceeded with the impromptu exam despite public opposition, and seemingly intended to cause widespread failure among students Igbo Students. An investigation conducted by the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), incorporating feedback from students who took the JAMB exam on Friday, 16th, and Saturday, 17th May 2025, across five states in the Southeast and Lagos, revealed that the questions were 100% tougher, harder, and more difficult, with an outdated curriculum unrelated to the modern school curriculum of the initial Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) taken by all on 25th April 2025 by all students seeking for admission into Nigeria Tertiary Institutions.

With disturbing reports and feedback from students across Southeast States and Lagos who retook the JAMB examination on 16th and 17th May 2025, there is growing concern that the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) led by Mr. Is-haq Oloyede and Co. may have conspired to cause a mass failure among Igbo students retaking the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) using outdated curriculum JAMB questions.

We respectfully request that:
Mr. Is-haq Oloyede is relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

That the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) should cease any calculated plan of mass failure against Igbo students, in Southeast and Lagos State who retake the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) on 16th May and 17th May 2025.

We object to the premise that Southeast students cannot participate in a different standard of Exam on 16th/17th May 2025 while those in Sokoto, Kastina, Gombe, Kano, Kaduna etc have taken a different simpler standard of Exam in 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) on 25th April 2025.

In the history of Nigeria, there has been no recorded instance where students from the Northern region took a less rigorous simpler Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) while students from the Southeast took a more demanding, complex, harder, tougher and difficult examination with an outdated curriculum, as was recorded in 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) on 16th/17th May 2025 across Southeast States.

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a standardized Exam board for all Nigerian students seeking admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, thus it is injustice, inequitable, unacceptable for students from Southeast to take a different tougher standard Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

At this juncture, Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) urge the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to restore its integrity by cancelling the entire 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) nationwide and administering a uniform question to all Nigerian students seeking admission to tertiary institutions in 2025.

The Ndigbo people have faced unprecedented marginalization and intolerable victimization in Nigeria, with a separate legal standard, policy, or procedure employed in matters related to them in Nigeria. As a result of the same victimization Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is being subjected to an unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional trial in Nigeria, without precedent in recorded history, while Southeast Governors and others political office holders stay aloof and watch.

The silence of Southeast Governors and National Assembly members over the 2025 JAMB victimization of Ndigbo and other injustices, sociopolitical victimization, and marginalization raises questions of complicity.

In the imminent moment Southeast Governors, former Governors, past and present National Assembly members, and all politicians will be compelled to face the music and experience the same fate as Haitian politicians, who faced the wrath of the Haitian people, due to the rising tide of provocative thoughts, anger, and aggression brewing among Igbo youth, which will ultimately erupt into an unstoppable revolution against politicians in Igboland.

It is imperative that Southeast Governors and National Assembly members from the Southeast emerge from their complacency and collectively exert effort to counteract the deliberate educational disadvantage engineered by the Nigerian State against Igbo students through the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), otherwise this egregious social injustice against Ndigbo will continue unabated.

Signed
Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka
National President Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC)
20th May 2025
