Osato Edobor, the student nurse at the Delta State College of Nursing, Agbor, who recently sparked national attention over her involvement in a viral song titled “Na Your Mama Be This” referencing Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reportedly failed her final year examinations.

The news of her academic setback comes just weeks after she was issued a query by the college management for what they described as “conduct unbecoming of a student nurse.” The viral clip, which circulated widely on social media, drew mixed reactions from the public, with some criticizing her for disrespect and others defending her right to free expression.

Edobor’s failure in her final exams has raised concerns among students and civil society groups, some of whom allege that the controversy may have influenced her academic outcome. However, school authorities have not commented on whether there is any link between the disciplinary process and her examination results.

As of the time of this report, efforts to reach Edobor or her representatives for comments were unsuccessful. The institution has also remained tight-lipped, maintaining that academic results are released based strictly on merit.

The situation continues to draw attention online, with many Nigerians calling for transparency and fairness in handling the matter.
