Controversial journalist and social commentator, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo, has issued a stern warning to Nollywood Yoruba stars allegedly pressuring her to congratulate actress Iyabo Ojo on “Yoruba cultural grounds.”
In a statement posted on her social media handle, Olunloyo said she would never reconcile with Ojo, whom she accused of being complicit in past attempts on her life and in events surrounding her imprisonment.
“Iyabo is NOT my friend, she will NEVER be my friend. Don’t use some fake congratulatory message to end a lifetime beef. It goes beyond that,” Olunloyo declared.
She alleged that Ojo had prior knowledge of three failed assassination attempts against her by a man identified as the late Kenebie, who later begged for forgiveness. Olunloyo further claimed that Ojo collected ₦10 million to avoid appearing in court during her trial, which prolonged her time in prison.
“If I was killed, Iyabo would be an accessory before and after the fact. What would my children do? What would the US government do? Nigeria could even be hit with sanctions, and I will still be in the grave,” Olunloyo said.
She also linked Ojo to the controversies surrounding the death of singer Mohbad, alleging that by her actions, the actress became “an accessory after the fact.”
Concluding her statement, Olunloyo stressed that anyone celebrating Iyabo Ojo’s new grandson is indirectly “celebrating Mohbad’s death.”
