Kim Kardashian has revealed that she suffered a brain aneurysm during a routine MRI scan a frightening discovery she believes was triggered by the emotional toll of her divorce from Kanye West.
In the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians, the reality star was informed by her doctor that a “small aneurysm” had been found, and was told such conditions are often linked to severe stress. According to the Mayo Clinic, an aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain, which can rupture and cause internal bleeding a life-threatening situation if left untreated.
Reflecting on the diagnosis, Kim suggested that the stress and drama surrounding her split from Kanye now known as Ye might have contributed to the health scare. She noted that despite their separation, he remains a constant presence in her life as they co-parent their four children: North (12), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (6).
Later in the episode, Kim also disclosed that her psoriasis, a chronic skin condition, flared up during the divorce, which she linked to the psychological strain of the process.
The Skims founder went on to open up about feeling like she developed Stockholm Syndrome a coping mechanism that can cause victims to develop emotional ties to their abusers.
Kim and Kanye were married from 2014 to 2022. Though she initially stood by him through his public breakdowns and mental-health struggles, she said she eventually decided to leave when it became clear he wasn’t ready to seek help.
Now, years after their split, the mother of four says she’s still healing from the aftermath both mentally and physically.
