The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has paid glowing tribute to its pioneer Chief Executive Officer and retired Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Yemi Odubela, in a special courtesy visit that underscored the agency’s commitment to institutional remembrance and respect for legacy.

Led by the General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the delegation visited Mr. Odubela in Lagos, where they celebrated his foundational role in establishing LASTMA’s operational framework. Bakare-Oki described the retired Commissioner as a visionary whose leadership and foresight laid the cornerstone of an agency that has grown into a continental reference point for traffic regulation and management.

“The doctrines and principles instituted by our pioneer CEO remain permanently inscribed in the DNA of this Authority. They continue to guide us in discipline, service, and innovation,” Bakare-Oki said.

As part of the visit, the General Manager presented Mr. Odubela with a commemorative Trooper-on-Bike Plaque, symbolizing LASTMA’s vigilance, resilience, and commitment to public safety. He also offered prayers for Odubela’s continued good health and long life.

In his response, a visibly delighted Odubela described the honour as both heartwarming and historic. He commended the present management for preserving LASTMA’s institutional memory and urged officers of the Authority to remain steadfast in their service to Lagosians.
