A scandal has erupted in Benue State after explicit adult videos featuring several young girls from the state surfaced online, allegedly recorded by a controversial adult content actor known as Brisom Love.

According to reports circulating on social media, Brisom Love allegedly sneaked into Makurdi, the state capital, and lured unsuspecting young girls with as little as ₦4,000 to record adult content for his platform. The most prominent of the girls, Bridget, reportedly appeared in over 10 explicit videos with the actor.

The viral videos have sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many calling for Brisom’s immediate arrest, accusing him of exploiting vulnerable girls under false pretenses.

Amid the uproar, Hon. Atu Terver, Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization, reacted via a Facebook post that has now added fuel to the controversy.

Rather than focus solely on the actor’s conduct, Terver criticized the attention being paid to Brisom’s ethnicity, believed to be Igbo, and instead questioned whether the girls were minors or had been coerced.

“If any of them were minors or had been raped, then we have a case. But if they’re consenting adults, even if it’s for ₦4,000, it’s their business. I don’t care to know,” he wrote.

Terver went on to condemn the girls, describing them as “partners in crime” and blaming them for tarnishing the image of Benue women.

“People like those loosed girls are the ones giving hardworking Benue ladies bad names. They are partners in crime and should be locked up to serve the same punishment, not just the guy,” he added.

His comments have sparked mixed reactions. While some agree that the girls should be held accountable if they participated willingly, others argue that such statements deflect from the larger issue of exploitation, poverty, and the role of adult content creators in targeting economically vulnerable young women.

Meanwhile, authorities are yet to officially confirm whether investigations have been launched into the viral videos or whether Brisom Love remains in Makurdi.

The scandal continues to dominate discussions online as Nigerians await further developments.
