Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) have reacted to what Governor of Anambra State, Governor Willie Obaino said about Fulani herdsmen carrying AK-47 in the state.
The governor declared herdsmen with illegal firearms as criminals in the state after Traditional rule forward complains to the Inspector General of police on how Fulani herdsmen have possessed their farmland in the area, and also how they have been assaulting their women in various occasions.
However Gidago Sidikki, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah in state has reacted to the directive of Governor Obaino. According to him, he said he’s in support of governor’s directive because it’s inline with the agreement between Southeast governors and the group to regard any herdsmen found with firearms as criminals.
According to his statement that was made known, he said in the following that:
“The governor’s order is in line with the already existing agreement between the South-East governors and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria.”
“My members have been having a good relationship with their host communities in spite of some isolated cases of misunderstanding, which is normal in every human society.”
