Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has held a detailed interview with Victoria Uwonkunda of BBC World Service on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing State Visit to the United Kingdom.
During the discussion, the minister addressed the significance of the historic two-day visit — the first by a Nigerian leader in 37 years — and highlighted key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and the UK, including trade, investment, security, and cultural exchange.
Idris also spoke on pressing domestic challenges facing Nigeria and the Tinubu administration’s efforts to address economic reforms, security, and the welfare of citizens.
The interview, which aired on BBC World Service, comes as President Tinubu continues high-level engagements at Windsor Castle with King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the first day of the State Visit.
The minister’s appearance is part of the federal government’s strategy to provide clarity and an international perspective on both the diplomatic visit and ongoing national developments.
