Ndi-Igbo United Forum Fully With The South-East Governors Forum

Further to the successful deliberations of our southeast elected Governors at the end of her meeting yesterday at Government House, Enugu, NDI-IGBO UNITED FORUM (NUF) a sociopolitical organization fully align ourselves and all Igbos to the communiqué as read by the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr Dave Umahi.

As representatives of the people and Chief Security Officers of your respective states, we state as follows:

  1. That we are proud of your acknowledgment of the President, Muhammad Buhari on his interests and more so intervention in full and uninterrupted funding of Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu and ongoing 2nd Niger bridge in Onitsha. We equally join you to thank other personalities identified as key figures in execution of the projects as we look forward to full completion as stated.
  2. NUF  join you to ask for better funding of Enugu-Porthacourt expressway especially the Abia-Portharcourt axis as rain will certainly cause more havoc and further compound  pressures and suffering of users.
  3. NUF is in absolute agreement with you in establishment of Southeast Security Outfit. We are not surprised at this initiative given the already established and functional Forest Guards System that has undoubtedly aided the reduction in crime in the region. NUF is therefore willing, ready and available to partner with our Governors in this regards given our spread, capacity and commitment to Igbo cause. As a non violent organization, we want to assure you that the same zeal and passion we deployed in resolving EEDC issues in Southeast through letters, protests and tripartite engagements is still available for us to be part of the process of establishing the Southeast Regional Security Program. Recall our numerous efforts led to resolving issues around meters, estimated billing, payment for new meters etc.
  4. NUF note with dismay the idea of our sister group Ohaneze Ndigbo. A sociocultural organization to establish same security outfit while asking the Governors to fund. We  feel that the best any group can do is to support and key into the Governors initiatives. We need cohesion than division. We don’t need to be plunged back to the blunders of 2015 and 2019. We ask that our Governors be allowed to concentrate and think through the processes and deliver to us a functional Security Network.
  5. Finally, NUF will continue to explore areas of collaborations to protect our interest, welfare and enhanced unity as a people. Our commitment to accountability and good governance is unwavering and absolute.
