Ned Nwoko Accuses In-Laws of Sabotaging Regina Daniels’ Rehabilitation

Businessman and politician Ned Nwoko has alleged persistent harassment by Sammy, the brother of his wife, actress Regina Daniels, accusing him of repeatedly invading his home and disturbing his children and domestic staff, especially in his absence.

In a detailed statement on Saturday, Mr Nwoko said the visits were “aggressive and disruptive,” despite the financial support he claimed to have extended to Sammy and other members of Regina’s family.

According to him, he sponsored Sammy through his final two years at the University of Ekpoma, purchased musical instruments for him, rented and furnished an apartment for him in Abuja, and bought a house in Asaba for Regina and her family before his marriage to her. He also alleged that he routinely provided allowances to members of the family, stating that he transferred ₦125 million to Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, in the past two years.

Mr Nwoko said Regina was undergoing rehabilitation after exhibiting worrying behavioural changes linked to alleged dependence on illegal substances. He claimed doctors instructed that access to her be strictly restricted to prevent contact with people they described as “enablers.”

He accused Sammy, alongside other family members and friends — including Destiny, Sonia Uche Montana, Lawrence, and NK — of defying medical instructions by entering the home uninvited and providing Regina with the same substances she was being treated for.

According to him, “Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced and supplied these drugs to her,” alleging that they also consumed the same substances. He contrasted this with his personal lifestyle, stating that he does not drink alcohol, smoke, and is a vegetarian.

Mr Nwoko further disclosed that four weeks ago, he woke up around 4 a.m. to find Regina in his room speaking on the phone while allegedly under the influence.

He said the continued interference by relatives and friends had undermined the work of doctors and therapists tasked with managing her recovery.
