Nigeria Is Bleeding – Comedian AY Makun Raises Alarm Over Insecurity, Calls for Real Action

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, AY Makun, has raised alarm over the escalating wave of insecurity across the country, describing Nigeria as “a crime scene” where citizens no longer feel safe in their homes, places of worship or schools.

In a strongly worded post, AY condemned the frequent attacks by bandits and terrorists, noting that churches are being invaded, Christians kidnapped or killed, children abducted from schools, and even top military officers are not spared. His comment comes amid reports of a Brigadier General shot dead in yet another violent incident.

“Every day brings fresh chaos, yet the government remains silent,” he said, questioning the failure of authorities to tackle insecurity despite repeated promises.

AY wondered how Nigeria descended into such a dangerous state and whether external intervention would eventually become necessary since, according to him, those in power appear unwilling to act decisively.

“How did we get here? And must outsiders come to fix what our leaders refuse to confront?” he asked. “Which way Nigeria? We need safety, accountability and real action, not silence. Nigeria is bleeding.”
