Nigeria Is Suffering Too Much — Davido

Nigerian music icon Davido has reiterated his deep concern for the country, affirming that his heart stays firmly with Nigerians even while he is overseas.

Having recently celebrated his 33rd birthday with a sold-out concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Davido shared a video from the event on his Instagram page on Saturday, thanking fans for their birthday wishes.

He wrote, “ATL!!! Thank you for the birthday love, State Farm, three years in a row!
“But even as we celebrate, my heart is with home. Nigeria is going through too much… our people deserve peace. More life, more love, more change.”

His message follows his recent expression of heartbreak over the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, which he described as devastating, emphasising that no family should endure such grief.

He also condemned the attack on a church in Kwara State, praying for the victims and insisting that such violence must never become normal.

Davido marked his 33rd birthday on Friday with the Atlanta concert. In a heartfelt birthday post, his wife, Chioma, prayed that God would bring “permanent confusion” to any gathering plotting harm against their family.

She added that he “still gives her butterflies” and expressed gratitude for his journey so far.

Chioma also surprised him with a birthday dinner and gifted him a Hermès HAC Haut à Courroies bag.
