A Nigerian lady has called on religious leaders to lead protests over the country’s situation, questioning why similar actions seen during a past administration are not happening now.
In a viral statement, she urged pastors and imams to take to the streets and lead citizens in peaceful demonstrations, saying religious leaders hold significant influence and should stand up for the people.
She said:
“Pastors and Imams, come out and let us march the streets of Nigeria. The government are failing, you’re our leaders, march in front. We don’t need celebrities, you’re our celebrities.”
She also referenced protests that occurred during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, asking why similar demonstrations are not being organized under the current government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“When Goodluck Jonathan was President of Nigeria, they marched. Why is nobody marching for Tinubu? Are we having selective attack?”
