Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has clarified that he does not currently have any transfer offer or contract on the table following his request for a release from South African side Chippa United.
Speaking to Andile Nchube, the Nigerian international dismissed speculations linking his decision to an imminent move, stressing that he is not under pressure to secure a new club.
“There is no contract in front, there is no club in front, and I am not guaranteeing you that a club will come today or tomorrow,” Nwabali said.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper noted that his decision was not driven by desperation, adding that he remains calm and selective about his next move.
“I am not desperate to get a club, but whatever club that comes, if it suits my agent and it suits me, I am going to play,” he added.
Nwabali also revealed that, contrary to widespread expectations, he has not received calls from interested clubs since the news broke.
“There are no calls yet. The only calls are from my family and friends and people that are shocked at the news,” he said.
The goalkeeper, who rose to prominence after his impressive performances for Nigeria, particularly at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, remains one of the most talked-about African goalkeepers despite the absence of formal offers.
