No Kobo Paid – Governor Confirms Rescue of Maga Schoolgirls

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has received the 25 Maga schoolgirls rescued from their abd¥ctors, confirming that they are in good health and that no ransom was paid. Idris stated that security agencies acted on the orders of President Bola Tinubu to rescue the girls unharmed. “No kobo was paid. The military, DSS, and other security forces combed the forest and rescued them unhurt,” he said.

The governor expressed gratitude to the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and police for their role in the operation. He also commended President Tinubu for his unwavering efforts to ensure the girls’ safe return and to strengthen national security.

Idris thanked clerics who prayed for the success of the rescue, as well as prominent figures including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, APC governors, and the Inspector General of Police, who visited Kebbi during the crisis. He also praised the schoolgirls’ parents for their patience and trust in the government.
